~ Eric
Toughest best detailed trucks ever. I remeber my 6th birthday, I got a light green L-Mack lumber truck. I Played with that truck at least weekly for at least 14 yrs. When I married at 18 I gave it to my younger cousin, He got at least another 10 yrs out of it. I just got lucky the other day and Bought an original L-mack freight box Truck and Trailer Red and Black in about a #7 condition at a garage sale for $200 This one is in a glass dispaly case beside the computor. Bringing back those old kid days and luvin every minute of it Thanks Steve

Back in the early 1950s, I received one of the best Christmas presents I ever got as a child. It was a Smith-Miller “PIE” truck. I put many miles on that “PIE” truck over the next few years. Later, I was also lucky enough to get a Mobil Gas truck, the biggest and best Ladder Fire Truck made and a long, long Lincoln car and trailer. It was always a special occasion when I got these toys out and played with them. Somehow I knew it was important to take care of each them. Well, these toys have traveled a lot of miles and I still have each of them with me today. I take a lot of pride in displaying such wonderful collectable toys and knowing each of them is still a “one owner” vehicle.

My mother just passed away and I rediscovered the Smith-Miller Mack lumber truck Santa brought in 1952 when I was five. When I was about 11, I would put one foot on the bed of the truck and ride down the paved hill in front of the house. The truck was that rugged but it survived in great shape. I may have invented skate boarding in 1958 and didn't know it. I am undertaking a restoration project to retain the memories. This is the only toy that I still have from my childhood.

I had several Smith Miller trucks given to me by my father in 1950. To this day I still buy the Smith Miller trucks of Fred Thompson. I love the old world quality. They are a heirloom that will stand the test of time as they are handed down to my son.
